North and West Remote Health (NWRH) is part of the Central and North West Queensland Medicare Local (CNWQML), one of 61 around Australia established by the Australian Government to improve health outcomes.
NWRH staff work with doctors, other health professionals and communities to meet local health needs and promote preventative health care. We work with all stakeholders to ensure better health outcomes for local communities.

NWRH Outreach Services
The Continence Advisor provides individualised management plans, education and advice to individuals experiencing incontinence (loss of bladder or bowel function). Eligible patients may also receive continence products at no expense.
The Dietitian provides general nutrition and dietary advice, assesses individual diets and provides practical dietary advice to help manage and treat conditions such as diabetes, heart disease, renal disease, gastrointestinal diseases, food allergies/intolerances and overweight/obesity.
The Occupational Therapist's primary role is to enable people to participate in the activities of everyday life, including work, leisure and self-care. Occupational therapy can benefit individuals of all ages with a variety of conditions caused by injury or illness, psychological or emotional difficulties, developmental delay or the effects of ageing.
The Podiatrist diagnoses and treats a range of conditions and injuries specific to the foot and lower limbs including bone, joint, skin, nail and muscular disorders and neurological and circulatory complaints.
Exercise Physiologists specialise in clinical exercise prescription, health education and the delivery of exercise-based lifestyle and behaviour modification programs, for the prevention and management of chronic diseases and injuries.
Our services are funded by The Home and Community Care Program (HACC). While you can simply contact us to request a service, we encourage you to use a doctor for referral, so we can help you to better manage your total health care needs. Waiting lists may apply.
